Over the years, Christian Book and Gift Shop has changed in many ways, but our commitment to our mission statement has not. It is the driving force, and only because of our Lord Jesus and our love for His children have we been able to survive the obstacles that 60+ years of business brings.
HISTORY
In 1937 the Home Shop was established by Harry Boyer to provide the community of Rochester with religious materials.
Twenty years later Dennis and Elaine Mulholland bought the store and moved it into their home on North Broadway, renaming it Christian Book and Gift Shop.
In 1966 the Mulhollands expanded their store with a new storefront extending out to Broadway. The years since have brought more expansion and remodeling with the store now providing 9,500 square feet of working space.
Christian Book and Gift Shop has received recognition several times for being on the cutting edge of Christian bookselling, including "Top 25 Christian Stores" by Christian Retailing Magazine for the year 2000, and CBA Store of the Region three times.
From a hard-working staff of one in 1957 to a wonderful staff of over twenty in 2001, Christian Book and Gift Shop strives to serve customers well and provide them with one of the largest selections of Christian product in the upper Midwest!
